Rotary Club


Pack 301F is chartered by the Rotary Club of Temecula. Every Cub Scout pack needs an organization willing to put its name behind it — ours belongs to a club that has been answering that kind of call in this valley since 1975.

A Pack Does Not Stand On Its Own

In Scouting, a unit is not an independent club. It is owned and operated by a chartered organization that agrees to run it as part of its own service to the community. The Rotary Club of Temecula holds that charter for Pack 301F, and that single decision is what makes everything else possible: our leaders, our meeting nights, the pinewood derby, the campouts, the whole year.

  • It holds the charter. Rotary signs the annual agreement with Scouting America and lends the pack its name and standing in Temecula.
  • It approves our leaders. Every adult who serves in the pack is approved by the chartered organization.
  • It gives the pack a home. A place to meet, a community to belong to, and the standing that comes with being the Rotary Club's Cub Scout pack.
  • It renews us every year. The charter is not permanent — each renewal is a fresh decision by Rotary that these families are worth standing behind.

About the Rotary Club of Temecula

Founded in 1975 and now more than a hundred business people and community leaders strong, the club works under Rotary International's guiding idea — Service Above Self — on projects that reach from this valley to the other side of the world. Rotary's seven areas of focus are peacebuilding, disease prevention, water and sanitation, maternal and child health, basic education, community economic development, and the environment. Chartering a Cub Scout pack is part of that same commitment.

  • Guests are welcome — visiting a meeting is the easiest way to meet the people behind our charter.

Rotary's youth work does not stop at Cub Scouts. The club also supports Interact and Rotaract clubs and sends students to RYLA, the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards — so a Scout who crosses over from our pack has a path that keeps going.

The Same Values, Taught Twice

Rotarians measure what they think, say and do against the Four-Way Test. Our Cubs learn the Scout Law. They are teaching the same thing.

  • Is it the truth? — A Scout is Trustworthy.
  • Is it fair to all concerned? — A Scout is Courteous.
  • Will it build goodwill and better friendships? — A Scout is Friendly.
  • Will it be beneficial to all concerned? — A Scout is Helpful.

A charter is a quiet kind of generosity. No one sees it at a pack meeting. It shows up as a den leader who was vetted, a place to gather, and a year of Scouting that simply happens — because a room full of Rotarians decided our families were worth vouching for. On behalf of every family in Pack 301F: thank you.

How Our Families Can Give Back

  • Visit a meeting. Wednesdays at noon at Mt. San Jacinto College — guests are welcome.
  • Show up for their projects. When Rotary runs a service day or a community fundraiser, a Cub Scout pack in uniform is the best thank-you note there is.
  • Invite them to ours. Pinewood derby, blue and gold banquet, crossover — our charter partner should have a seat at the front.
