We Need Your Help — Our Pack Runs on Parents

Every Cub Scout pack is run entirely by parent volunteers. There is no paid staff and no one else waiting in the wings. Den meetings, campouts, the pinewood derby, the blue and gold banquet, the awards our kids come home with — all of it happens because parents step up and take a job. When a position sits empty, that part of the program simply does not happen.

So we are asking every family to take one role this year. Most of these jobs take a couple of hours a month. You do not need scouting experience, and nobody gets dropped into a job alone — we will train you and work alongside you.

Positions We Need Filled

  • Committee Chair (Key 3)— Leads the adult side of the pack. Runs the committee meeting, keeps us organized and on budget, and makes sure every other role has the support it needs.
  • Cubmaster — (Key 3) The face of the pack for the kids. Plans and leads pack meetings, keeps the program fun and moving, and supports the den leaders.
  • Secretary — Keeps our records straight: meeting notes, the roster, the calendar, and the reminders and announcements that go out to families.
  • Treasurer — Handles the pack checking account: dues, fundraising deposits, paying the bills, and a simple report so everyone knows where we stand.
  • Assistant Cubmaster — Backs up the Cubmaster and steps in when he or she can't be there. Helps run ceremonies, games, and pack activities.
  • Den Leaders (two needed for each den) — Lead a small group of scouts through their adventures at den meetings, usually a couple of times a month. Two adults per den means you always have a partner and never carry it alone. This is where we need help the most.
  • Popcorn and Fundraising Chair — Runs the popcorn sale and our other fundraisers. This is the money that pays for awards, campouts, and activities, and it is what keeps out-of-pocket costs low for families.
  • Membership Chair — Welcomes new families, organizes recruiting nights and school sign-ups, and walks new parents through registration.
  • Advancement Chair — Tracks what each scout has earned, orders the badges and awards, and makes sure no kid's hard work gets missed at the pack meeting.
  • Camping Chair — Plans the campouts and outdoor activities: reserving the site, permits, gear, and getting the details out to families in time to plan.

We are not asking a few people for a huge commitment. We are asking every family for a small one. If every household takes one job, no one burns out and our kids get the full program.
